We want 7-Eleven to be the first choice for anyone looking for convenience shopping. Because of this, when we choose new franchisees, we look for people who can build the 7-Eleven brand by delivering great customer service and have a passion for retail.

10 steps to becoming a franchisee

With start up costs at anywhere between $300k - $800k+ investing in a 7-Eleven franchise is a big decision to make. That's why we have designed these 10 steps to try and ensure we are right for you and you are right for 7-Eleven.

Complete the online enquiry form

If, after reading this information, you are interested in becoming a 7-Eleven franchisee, please complete the online enquiry form. Once we receive your details we will contact you about completing an Information Request that will assist us in getting to know a little more about you, your background and past experience.

Your first interview

The information you have provided us with will be reviewed by 7-Eleven. If we think you might be suitable, we will contact you to arrange a first interview. This first meeting is an opportunity for us to see whether you are right for 7-Eleven and if we are right for you. We will provide a general overview of our franchise system, answer any questions you might have and discuss any available opportunities.

Learn more about the 7-Eleven system

At the 2nd interview you will be presented with a detailed description of the 7-Eleven Franchise system, including Disclosure Documents and The Franchising Code of Practice to assist you with your decision. Any relevant financial information will be provided and you should consult your accountant and your business advisor at this stage.

Create a business plan

Having consulted your advisors, the next stage is to develop a business plan for your proposed store and to present this to 7-Eleven for review. If this stage is successfully completed, we will provide you with a copy of the Store Agreement. You will be required to seek legal advice on the Store Agreement before you sign it.

Complete a self-assessment questionnaire

Once you have successfully completed your business plan, you will be required to complete a comprehensive questionnaire. Your answers to these questions will help 7-Eleven further assess your suitability as a 7-Eleven Franchisee.

Select your store and finalise the sale agreement

Once your selection as a 7-Eleven franchisee has been confirmed, you can finalise the commercial terms of your sale agreement with 7-Eleven (for the franchise fee) and the existing Franchisee (for goodwill.)

Start your in-store training

Following your approval into the 7-Eleven Franchise system, you will pay your application fee and start training at one of our training stores.  Payment of the application fee usually takes place at least one week prior to training commencing.

Sign the Store Agreement

The Store Agreement is prepared. This is a legal document which you will have an opportunity to review before you sign it.

Start your classroom training

The 7-Eleven Classroom training starts. Once you have successfully completed this stage you are ready for your first day as a 7-Eleven franchisee.

Your first day as a 7-Eleven Franchisee

Welcome to the 7-Eleven family. Your first day in your own store! The Store Agreement is now effective. From now you are responsible for leading your team to deliver outstanding customer service and a 7-Eleven customer offer that will help grow sales and profit, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For the first few days a 7-Eleven trainer will work alongside you to help manage the day to day activities and answer queries as they arise.

Your District Manager will also ensure you get settled into the business and work with you regularly in a business planning capacity to discuss business building opportunities, set targets, review performance and monitor operational standards.
